Janice Tong is a cinephile and sometime film scholar with an unfinished PhD in film studies hanging over the abyss of life.

Her occasional writings can be found in academic journals, film anthologies and Senses of Cinema. She also collaborates with Madman Entertainment in their Director’s Suite series of DVD releases from time to time.

You may find her lurking on e-forums and film sites under the name of firehorse.

Night is an attempt to bring together her personal drafts of unfinished papers, random thoughts, musings and other writings ignited by films, cinematographic images, and, the people who remain in the shadows of the lit screen.
